IPstage-CO Model

In recent years have seen rapid progress in the construction of IP-VPN networks by carriers and new services have been born in that climate, enabled by the ability to process data and voice on the same network. As part of this trend, the time is right for the business of outsourcing of carrier telephone services. For this reason, we developed an improved model of IPstage*1) intended for use by outsourcing businesses. In this paper we introduce our IPstage-CO (Central Office) model. * Network Systems Company, Multimedia Messaging Systems Div., Product Planning Dept. Outline of the system Figure 1 shows a sample implementation of “telephone outsourcing.” With this example, the main equipment is placed in a center and distributed offices are linked by a single network in the form of a VPN net. The carrier manages the customer service menu of equipment installed in the center so there is the advantage to the customer that this arrangement does not require the customer to deal with bothersome equipment management. The main equipment of the IPstage-CO model are the MCC and LU-32/DC. 1. MCC The configuration is such that a CAB can house 16 MCC-CTL’s and each MCC-CTL can handle a total of 768 IP telephone units and circuits on one MCC board. MCC-CTL is a control package for enabling telephone switching over IP networks and achieving the housing of H.323v2-conforming IP terminals as well as conventional PBX service.
